Vieille Ville

It's raining on Nice now, so, I will write another blog post!
Today, I didn't have class, so I strolled to Vieille Ville, the oldest part of the city, which is like a Wonderland. My first impressions of Vieille Ville were that it was gritty and over-rated, but it has quickly captured my imagination. Sometimes, it's hard to tell whether I am actually outside when I walk through the Old City, since the buildings are so tall and they have a tendency to (or at least appear to) lean over the narrow, criss-crossing streets below. Today, I discovered a new street with a inexpensive restaurant with Nice specialities that reminded me of tapas, a store "Pirate's Cove" with barrels full of candy, other stores selling dried fruit, an alley with modern art sculptures, an art store with classic oil paintings, and the Palais Lacaris (not sure about spelling). I swear Old Nice has everything- but good luck finding what you're looking for!
I had some time to wait before the bank and library reopened, so I went to the Palais and basically had the restored palace to myself! My favorite room was where the family had parties, which had beautiful, worn tapestries depicting the larger-than-life story of Antony and Cleopatra. Today convinced me the best way to travel would be by time machine.
